Tuesday: Saint James Music Academy & a New 50mm

|
Today started off as a "normal day" - and when I say normal I mean... nothing like the day before and nothing like the next day! Mid-morning I went off to meet a potential wedding-photography client but right before that I went to London Drugs to get a memory card...

The original intention was just to buy a memory card... but then I looked up on the shelf...and saw the Canon 50mm f1.4... with a tag that said "New Low Price" and so I just HAD to inquire! I spent some time "haggling" with the salesman - I got it down a bit lower than the listed price and also got a filter with it. It's an expensive purchase... so I'm just going to have to sit on it a little bit and think if it's going to be worth it!

I have to say though, I LOVE having a lens that I can use in low-light conditions! Having a prime lens is a bit of an adjustment... I'm so used to zooming in and out! Here are some photos from the day using my new lens!

And finally, the Music Academy in action!

Most of my evening was spent helping our new friend Adel - a refugee from Iraq - with his resume, along with cleaning up the house after dinner. It's been a long day!

So what do you guys think? Should I keep the 50mm lens?

well..I own the cheapo version of that lens (50 mm f/2.8) and to be honest: I love the fact that I have a fixed 50 that works great on low light :) If you have the money..keep it ;)
